Why Use a Dehumidification Dryer?

Most engineering plastics possess hygroscopic properties. When these plastics are exposed to the atmosphere after being removed from moisture-proof sealed packaging, they start absorbing moisture. Traditional hot air barrel machines fail to prevent this continual absorption of moisture, as they utilize moisture-laden outside air for drying.

Benefits of Plastic Dehumidification Dryers:

  1. Prevention of Bubbles: Removing moisture from plastic raw materials prevents the formation of bubbles, ensuring ideal mechanical, electrical, and dimensional stability, and appearance of the final product.

  2. Reduced Defective Products: Prevents the production of defective products, minimizing return losses and reducing waste materials.

  3. Time and Cost Efficiency: Dehumidification dryers utilize very dry air for dehumidification, reducing drying time and saving the workforce.

  4. Environmental Benefits: The closed circulation system and equipped filters in dehumidification dryers prevent external climate influence and dust pollution, thereby enhancing the working environment.

Performance of Dehumidification Dryers:

Efficient drying hinges on factors like drying temperature, drying time, air volume, and dew point. These factors are interdependent and affect drying efficiency.

Factors Affecting Drying Efficiency:

  1. Drying Temperature: Each raw material has temperature limitations during drying. Excessive temperatures can lead to additive evaporation, degradation, or agglomeration, while insufficient temperatures may hinder proper drying conditions.

  2. Drying Time: Balancing drying time is crucial to prevent material deterioration or energy wastage. Too short drying times can result in high moisture content.

  3. Air Volume: Adequate air volume is necessary to remove moisture effectively. More air volume may leave moisture in the raw materials.

  4. Dew Point Temperature: A good dehumidification dryer should achieve a dew point temperature of -40°C or lower to ensure optimal dryness.

Types of Dehumidification Dryers:

Dehumidification dryers can be standalone or centralized. Standalone dryers comprise a dryer host, drying barrel, and suction machine and are suitable for small-volume and diverse drying with efficient material changeovers.

Centralized dryers include a main dryer and multiple drying barrels, each with an independent heating controller. This setup allows for simultaneous drying of various raw materials and precise control over air volume in each drying barrel.
